Mountain Creek is driven by its capable and efficient field operation. Our management team is fully aware of the interdependence of field and administrative operations. We take an approach that the office staff serves the field, so the construction operation can stay in motion to service the client’s needs and meet the project critical path. The nature of our work is often in the toughest part of any site – the low-lying wet area that everyone else seeks to avoid. The cohesive nature of the office staff keeping the field at its most effective level is at the heart of what we do.

Donovan R. Phillips

President

Mr. Phillips is the President of Mountain Creek Contractors and was one of the company’s founders, building the company with a strong focus on delivering solutions and ensuring the satisfaction of its client. He leads the organization with a hands-on approach to keeping projects on track and ensuring the prompt completion of work on its contracts, which have included several hundred concrete structures of various types and sizes, in addition to road and sitework construction, design and planning services.

He has a long record of project and executive management experience in the construction industry, overseeing projects from Georgia to New York. His project experience includes both public and private, including private master-planned developments, public infrastructure and highway and bridge construction projects.

Greg T. Cook, P.E.

Executive Vice President

Mr. Cook is the Executive Vice President of Mountain Creek Contractors, with a long record of construction management experience in both Carolinas, as well as Georgia. A registered Professional Engineer both in Georgia and South Carolina, Mr. Cook has over twenty years of experience in a full range of competencies, including design, geotechnical engineering, materials testing, client relations and management at the project and executive levels. These include both public and private, ranging from private master-planned developments to highway and bridge construction projects.

Since joining the Mountain Creek team last year, he has overseen several NCDOT projects, including rest areas in Cabarrus and Davidson Counties and a bridge project in Rutherford County.
Prior to joining Mountain Creek, he served as the Vice President of U.S. Group, Inc., where he directed the Company’s entire portfolio of South SCDOT highway projects, with over four dozen completed contracts which ranged in value from several hundred thousand to tens of millions of dollars. Previously, he worked as the Senior Project Manager at Rochester and Associates in Atlanta, Georgia, and was responsible for the technical design and management of numerous residential and commercial projects.

Edwin “Redd” Boelte

Vice President of Operations

Mr. Boelte is the Vice President of Operations for Mountain Creek Contractors, taking a lead role in overseeing the coordination of construction operations for Mountain Creek projects. He controls crew and equipment allocation and is truly the backbone of our overall operation. Redd has been with the company since its inception and contributed heavily to our growth and success in our niche in the concrete construction industry. In this role, he works with the Mountain Creek leadership team, as well as management of client companies, as well as subcontractors and vendors.

With twenty years’ experience, including fifteen with Mountain Creek, he has a firm grasp of the company’s mission and the expectations of clients, experience in mastering a wide range of challenges, as well as a solid record of delivering results. He uses his military background and training to “lead from the front“ and provide motivation to all our employees up and down the organizational ladder. His work ethic is a driving force to our production results.

Russell L. Rockett, EIT

Chief Estimator

In addition to serving as the Lead Estimator for Mountain Creek Contractors, Mr. Rockett is a Project Manager on many of its projects in the Carolinas. He has a strong understanding of the company’s competencies and its client base. He worked for three years as an Assistant Project Engineer prior to becoming a full time member of the team upon his graduation from N.C. State University.

He oversees estimating and coordinates purchasing and subcontracting for company projects. He also assists in the technical aspects of managing projects, including engineering, design and submittal preparation. His close relationships with material suppliers, subcontractors, and engineering consultants allow him to engage and organize as necessary to meet any kind of technical challenges a project may face.

Lee Murray

Project Manager

Mr. Murray is a Project Manager with Mountain Creek Contractors, with a long record of construction project management across the Carolinas. Prior to joining Mountain Creek last year, he served as Project Manager of U.S. Group, Inc., where he managed the company’s largest-ever highway construction project: the Interstate 26 Widening Project in N. Charleston, SC , as well as several other projects in Beaufort and Berkeley Counties. His previous construction management covered a wide range of areas, including design, construction inspection, and project management.

Jeff Hendren

Safety and Training Officer

Mr. Hendren serves as Mountain Creek Contractors dedicated Safety and Training Officer. He is uniquely suited for this position, being an active member of the local Rescue Squad and having served as the Chief of the Rescue Squad for 12 consecutive years. He has also completed extensive safety training and holds many certifications relating to safety in the construction field. His full time position as Safety and Training Officer demonstrates Mountain Creek Contractors commitment to a safe and healthy working environment. In addition to training our employees, he also conducts routine safety audits, ensuring that each job site is safe and productive.
